Born in Nancy, France in 1972, Petitjean is a self-taught artist, who has learned through observation and travel. From 1994 until around the year 2000, she painted in a studio in NewYork City, across from the Guggenheim Museum. She returned to France in 2000, establishing her studio in Vence, behind the cathedral and next to the historic bell tower.
