| | Born in South Dakota on Feb. 17, 1892. After studying at the Denver School of Art, Patton was a resident of Los Angeles and pupil at Otis Art Institute under Holmes and Vysekal in 1925-27. Returning to South Dakota, he painted portraits, worked as a banker and spent one year in the wilds of Alaska as an FBI agent.
