| Painter, etcher. Born in NYC on April 16, 1874. Edith Catlin studied with Charles Hawthorne, Wm M. Chase, and at Académie Julian in Paris. The wife of Stowe Phelps, she lived in Connecticut and NYC before settling in Santa Barbara in the 1930s where she remained until her death on July 8, 1961. Member: Conn.
