Living in Providence, Rhode Island; Princeton, Massachusetts, Charleston, South Carolina and New Haven, Connecticut, Edith Weir was known for her portrait miniature painting. She was active in the Providence Art Club.  She was also a writer, with books titled Under Four Tudors, Manual of Altar Guilds and Set Apart.

Weir was a student at the Yale School of Fine Arts and also studied with her father John Ferguson Weir, as well as Lucia Fairchild Fuller and Adele Herter.&n (showing 500 of 1429 characters).
