| Born in San Francisco, CA on Jan. 16, 1878. Plau studied locally at the Mark Hopkins Art Institute under Arthur Mathews and later taught for many years in the public schools of San Francisco and Los Angeles. She lost many of her works in the earthquake and fire of 1906 and was a resident of Long Beach, CA in 1932-38. A spinster, she died at her home in Piedmont, CA on May 26, 1954. Her work includes portraits and still lifes.
