Ella Gillmer Smyth Peacock is known for painting old buildings and
landscapes in Sanpete County, Utah where she lived for nearly thirty
years. A regional impressionist who painted in a 1920s signature
style in the late 20th century, Peacock lived in a small artists'
community in Spring City, Utah.
Peacock was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to George Albert Smyth and Adelaide
Short Munhall Smyth. She was educated at the private Germantown
