Biography from AskART:
| Active in Providence and Block Island, Rhode Island, and Woodstock, New York, Esther Pressoir was a painter, illustrator, and instructor in hospitals and art centers. She did illustrations including cartoons for books and magazines and had magazine commissions with the "New Yorker," "Fiction Parade," and "Tomorrow."
In 1930, she and Helen MacAusland took a five-month bicycle trip across Europe, and some people said they were the first American women to accomplish such a feat. |
