| Born in Parma, Italy on June 9, 1863. Peano was educated in Turin at the Albertina Academy and the University of Turin. He appears to have immigrated to the San Francisco Bay area in the early 1890s. He taught for awhile at the Mark Hopkins Institute. His friend Jack London lived in his home in Oakland while writing Call of the Wild. In 1902 Peano moved to Los Angeles and later built a studio-home in Hawthorne adorned with sculpture and unusual garden decorations. He was active in Hawthorn (showing 500 of 1014 characters). |
