| | Born in Canada on April 21, 1875, the son of artist Mary Parmenter. During the 1890s Parmenter was a resident of San Francisco and on the art staff at the Call. He studied at the Mark Hopkins Art Institute before moving to Los Angeles in 1904. He then worked for the Examiner until 1932. He died in Orange, CA on March 12, 1946.
