| Born in Leadville, CO on Oct. 11, 1898. Polkinghorn settled in Los Angeles with his family in 1902. Following service in WWI, he studied at Stanford University and UC Berkeley. He further studied at the Otis Art Institute under Vysekal and Shrader. In 1950 he spent five months painting in Europe. A bachelor and real estate investor, he was active in the local art scene until his death in Los Angeles on Dec. 16, 1967. Exh: Calif.
