Biography from George Krevsky Gallery:
| Glenna Putt has been a visual artist all of her life… in her own words, she could draw before she could talk. Drawings and paintings in watercolors or oils present the world as captured by her eye and hand – views from her studio windows, settings within her home, objects grouped on tables, or locations visited during her travels. Whatever the subject, Putt’s artworks glow with color, warmth, and her keen sense of detail. They demonstrate the artist’s delight in seeing and recording, so that she may share her visual experiences with the viewer.
This retrospective highlights all phases of her career. As a working artist her “day job” took her to architect and cosmetic firms, and everything in between. Years of experience “sharpened the eye,” Putt explained in a San Francisco Chronicle feature story by Jesse Hamlin. It is these skills that influenced her work as a fine artist.
A self-taught artist who is a native of Van Nuys, California, Glenna Putt’s professional affiliations have included the Society of Illustrators, and she has been honored by the American Academy of Arts & Letters. She has been exhibited widely in both the New York and the Bay Area.
