| Texas landscape watercolorist Hattie Virginia Palmer was born on May 29, 1866, in Ripley, Ohio, where she grew up. She would later travel around Texas, her adopted state, painting the bluebonnet flower fields in bloom around San Antonio, La Grange, and Austin. Some of her pictures include "A Foggy Morning in Houston;" "Texas Bluebonnets;" "Misty Morning of Spring;" and "The Golden Gleam of Autumn."
