This biography from the Archives of AskART:
| Although Poleo injured his eyesight in his early youth, he decided to study at the Escuela de Artes Plásticas in Caracas. In 1937, he
went to Mexico, where he studied and painted for three years. After visiting the United States, Ecuador, and Colombia (where he held an exhibition of his work), he returned to Venezuela in 1940.
His move to New York in 1945 exposed his work to a wider audience. Poleo exhibited in Venezuela, the United States, Mexico, and Paris.
