The following is from Harry German:
Herman Peterson was a 20th century portrait and impressionist landscape painter from Winnetka, Illinois. He was a graduate of Valparaiso (Indiana) University and worked in the Chicago area. He also did architectural renderings for Chicago architectural companies.
He was commissioned by the U.S. Navy to do twelve portraits of famous U.S. naval heroes. Some of these paintings are in U.S. Naval Museum, Washington, D.C. and U.S. Naval Shipyards, Was (showing 500 of 1145 characters). |
