James Plumb paints beautiful classical tabletop still lifes using the materials, methods and symbolism of the 16th and 17th century masters. Recently Plumb was chosen to study the techniques of the 16th and 17th century painters at the Maastricht Summer University in Amsterdam.
Since he has always been interested in the symbolism that enriches so many of these early paintings, Plumb thoughtfully includes symbols in the still lifes he paints. One such symbol he has used is the butterfl (showing 500 of 871 characters). |
