Born in Navasota, Texas and then living in San Antonio and Douglas, Arizona, Jessie Petty married Thomas Petty, an army officer and lived various places where he was assigned including Fort Sam Houston at San Antonio. In 1930 she moved to Douglas, Arizona and returned later in her life to San Antonio, dying there in 1974. In Texas and Arizona she painted landscapes and missions.
She studied at the California School of Fine Arts in San Francisco and in California was a student of Xav (showing 500 of 1305 characters). |
