| John D. Parks was born February 23, 1922 in Wichita, Kansas. He studied at the Wichita Art Assoc. Served for four years in the armed services in World War II. Graduate of the Art Institute of Chicago. Did freelance art work in Wichita and Chicago. Appointed as an instructor in design at the Univ. of Kansas in 1950. In the spring of 1951 he moved to Kansas City and worked on painting commissions such as the mural he painted for Sidney’s restaurant on Linwood Boulevar (showing 500 of 834 characters). |
