This biography from the Archives of AskART:
The following, submitted November 2004, is from Ian Tasker. His source is the following message from his sister, Mrs. Tyler who was Miss Christine Tasker when she knew Pannett.

"In 1965, Juliet Pannett came to P & O's very newest ship, the Canberra,as the main attraction for the cruise. She was to talk and give demonstrations of her ability to portray, with what appeared to be incredible speed and ease, the likeness of anything she saw.

I was newly appointed as the Tourist Hostess and so I had to introduce her to the passengers, and act as chairman during her teaching sessions. This was the beginning of P & O having celebrities as added attractions to their cruises. I was very nervous, but she put me and her large audiences immediately at ease. I am sure that anyone who was there at the time, will, like me, have vivid memories of her talks as well as her actual painting.

At the end of the voyage she sold her paintings and offered me the first choice from those she had produced during the cruise. I chose one of the Lascars working on deck, because I actually recognised the men as people I had seen every day as I went about the ship.

It cost 5.00, and when I picked it out she said,"Oh that's a very sketchy unfinished one - have this as well," and gave me the appealing picture of the little Tibetan boy with tufts of hair on the top of his head.
The Britain and Hove Museums have portraits by Juliett Pannett including "PORTRAIT OF W. H. AUDEN", 1961 in pastel and the DUCHESS OF NORFOLK, 1969, charcoal,
Charcoal, chalk and crayon
