Karl Plath (1886-1970)
Perhaps no one had a better right to be identified with the subjects he paints than this artist. Specializing in paintings of birds much of his material was secured in his trips to tropic seas and exotic jungles and also from his maintaining an aviary of rare birds containing over 70 varieties of living models from all parts of the world. There really are birds such as he painted!
He was a frequent exhibitor at the Art Inst (showing 500 of 1755 characters). |
