Biography from J Watson Fine Art:
Growing up along the Texas coast and also spending many happy days in the country with his grandparents gave Kyle Polzin much inspiration for his subject matter as a young artist. Working closely with his father to develop his talents, the artist started his training at an early age. Craftsmanship is a common thread in Polzin's heritage; his father is a gifted artist and both grandfathers were skilled craftsmen. Along with an appreciation of art, Polzin's family enjoyed the outdoors. The young artist has been influenced by the many childhood experiences of fishing the coastal waters and hunting and exploring the land with his father and grandfathers.

Polzin was encouraged by his family to pursue painting as a career. Upon graduating high school in 1992, he began his formal fine arts training at Victoria College with an emphasis on oil painting. After graduating from college, the artist took advantage of many opportunities to enhance his talents. In 1996, he began instructional sessions with the master painter Dalhart Windberg, whose painting style has influenced him since childhood. This invaluable learning experience helped launch Polzin's fine art career.

Polzin's original paintings are in great demand by collectors. In 2007 at Kyle's first one-man show, all 27 of the original works exhibited sold on opening night. The artist's beautiful works have been featured in Southwest Art and Art of the West magazines and on the cover of Texas Outdoors Journal. Texas Ducks Unlimited chose Polzin as their Sponsor Artist for 2006-07 for his painting, "Hunters' Heritage." Polzin's works are also exhibited in corporate and private collections worldwide.

Biography from The Legacy Gallery:
Born on January 16, 1974, Kyle Polzin grew up in South Texas, and began developing his artistic skills at a young age under the guidance of his father.  Brought up around horses and the Gulf coast, Kyle grew to appreciate the beauty and heritage of his Texas surroundings which is reflected in his art.  He worked closely with his grandfathers who were both skilled carpenters, and through their teachings, learned the value of craftsmanship and the reward of creating with your hands.

In 1992 Kyle began his formal training in fine art at Victoria College with emphasis in oil painting.  During this time, he participated in instructional sessions under Dalhart Windberg, whose work has influenced him since boyhood.  After college Kyle worked as a graphic artist and web designer while painting in his free time.  As his popularity and success as a painter grew, he switched to painting full time in 2000.

Kyle received the Express Ranches Great American Cowboy Award at the 2013 Prix de West in Oklahoma City, and the Don B. Huntley SPIRIT OF THE WEST Award, given in recognition of the most outstanding work in cowboy subject matter for three years in a row at the Autry National Center's Masters of the American West Fine Art Exhibition and Sale.  He has had numerous sold out shows and his work has been featured in Art of the West, Southwest Art, Western Art Collector, Texas Outdoors Journal, and numerous other publications.

He resides in Austin, Texas with his wife Leigh along with their two young daughters.

Biography from Southwest Gallery:
Kyle Polzin was born in Cuero, Texas in 1974.  His family moved to Victoria in 1975 where he grew up working closely with his father to develop his artistic skills.  Craftsmanship is not uncommon in the Polzin family.  Kyle’s father is an artist, and both of his grandfathers were craftsmen as well as serious outdoorsmen.  During his childhood, Kyle spent countless days on the Texas coast near Port O’Connor fishing the bays and the surf with his family, and he made regular trips to his grandparents to explore the countryside near Cuero.  He attended public schools all the while, graduating from Victoria High School.

In 1992, Kyle entered Victoria College.  There he began his formal training in the fine arts with emphasis in oil painting under the instruction of Larry Shook.  After graduating from Victoria College, he had numerous opportunities to continue his artistic learning experience.  In 1996 he participated in instructional sessions under master painter Dalhart Windberg.  This highly motivational learning experience helped to launch Polzin's career in Fine Art.  His work has been recognized by such organizations as Ducks Unlimited.
