| | Born in Fresno, CA on March 24, 1896. Following service in WWI, Patterson studied art at the CSFA and in Mexico City. During the 1920s he was a resident of San Francisco and active in the local art scene. By 1932 he had moved down the peninsula where he taught art at San Mateo Jr. College for over 30 years. He died in San Mateo on Nov. 3, 1964.
