Born in New Orleans, Leda Plauche established her studio there after studying at Newcomb College. She was a specialist in carnival and pageant costume design, especially for the Mardi Gras, and worked for Rex and Atlanteans carnival organization. She designed many tableaus, costumes and floats.
At one time, she worked for Maison Blanche department store and from 1926 to 1927, was President of the Women's Advertising Club of New Orleans.
She wrote and illustrated the book, "Old New (showing 500 of 745 characters). |
