| Born in North Bend, WA on Oct. 19, 1887. The daughter of a wagon master, Lenore's parents came from Kentucky and pioneered in Washington before its statehood. As a young girl she studied art and botany in the public schools of Ellensburg. In 1923 she wed artist James Tank Porter and settled in La Mesa, San Diego County, CA where she remained for the rest of her life. There she studied painting with Charles Reiffel, J. Francis Smith, and Robert Landry. Her paintings (showing 500 of 817 characters). |
