| Leslie Joseph Powell was born March 16, 1906 in Minneapolis, Kansas. He studied at Oklahoma Univ. from 1922-23, at the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts, 1924-25, at the Art Students League, Fall 1927. Earned a BFA from Columbia Univ. in 1952 and a MFA in 1954. Held several short term teaching positions before joining Richard Hudnut Co. as a designer in 1927 and staying until 1947. Powell moved to Santa Fe, NM in the mid-1950s after receiving his Master of Arts degree from Columbia (showing 500 of 1833 characters). |
