| Born in San Francisco, CA on Feb. 16, 1914. Pera studied at the CSFA during the 1930s. During WWII he operated tugboats and towboats for the Army in Alaska and the South Pacific. He began his work as an artist sketching while waiting to tow ships. In the late 1940s he and his artist wife Joan Hinchman (1921-1979) lived in the North Beach section of San Francisco and later moved across the Golden Gate to Sausalito. They were active in the local art scene and were associated with a group of a (showing 500 of 716 characters). |
