Margaret Parish was born Margaret Blumel in Kansas City, Missouri in 1912. She had an affinity for art from an early age. She was a member of the 1930 senior class art club at Kansas City's Central High. Parish studied art during the ensuing years, influenced by artists such as Thomas Hart Benton and James Young-Hunter. Parish's knack for painting the rural country scenes and landscape was inspired by the beautiful Kansas countryside which still has that flavor of the old pioneer era to (showing 500 of 2528 characters). |
