| Mario was born on December 2, 1948 in Carrara, Italy. Mario has been painting since he was a child. He has lived in San Francisco since 1970. In 1975 he travelled back to Florence to begin studies under the direction of Maestro Romano Stephanelli, a follower of Maestro Pierro Annigoni. He frequently returns to Italy to continue his studies in painting, drawing and frescoes.
In the winter of 1983-84 Mario assisted Maestro Romano Stefanelli in painting frescoes at the reconstructed monastery in Montecassino, Italy, which had been destroyed in World War II. Mario had his first one-man show in San Francisco in March of 1985 and continues to exhibit frequently. His paintings are in several private collections throughout te United States, Switzerland and Italy. |
