Martha Patitz (1868-1937)
A painter and art teacher, she was born on July 19, 1868 in Mugeln, Saxony, Germany. Martha Patitz immigrated to the U.S.in 1882. She never married but lived for years with a young sister and a brother who was a mechanical engineer. She was a pupil of F.W.Heine in Milwaukee and taught painting until she retired in 1927.
She is listed in Milwaukee city directories between 1895 and 1920. She is also listed in the Wisconsin state ce (showing 500 of 850 characters). |
