| | Born in Bowdoinham, ME in March 1868. Patten studied art in Boston and Paris. She lived in Cuba and was assistant art curator at the Chicago Museum of Art for several years before moving to California about 1912. While in Sacramento, she taught in the public schools from 1913-28. In 1929 she returned to Bowdoinham where she remained until her death on Dec. 24 1939.
