Maximo Pacheco (1907-1992)
He was born in Huichapan, in the state of Hidalgo, Mexico, in 1907. Pacheco was an assistant to Diego Rivera on some murals from 1921-1926 (to be succeeded by Pablo Higgins). He was a member of the Sindicato de Pintores.
Jean Charlot and David Siquieros convinced Pacheco that he had talent as an artist. Pacheco had a one-man show in Mexico City which was a hit. He was able to live on his wages as an artist.
