Miska Petersham (1888-1960)
Miska was born in 1888 in a peasant village on the Hungarian plains and was christened "Petrezseleym Mihaly" by his Catholic parents. As a boy he spent happy days far out on the plains with his grandfather who was a shepherd. In his own humble home he was surrounded by the colorful peasant art which made the most simple objects beautiful and he determined that when he grew up he would be a painter, an artist. After regular schooling he worked his way through (showing 500 of 1773 characters). |
