Known for thinly painted, large scale, vibrantly colored abstract
paintings, Monique Prieto is a California artist whose work sometimes
results in images that appear to be looming and insect-like---"funky
biomorphic forms". (SMoCA) A mother of young children, she does
much of her drawing on a computer screen, a method she finds flexible
and convenient, and reminders of domestic life often find their way
into her work.
Prieto was born in Los Angeles to Mexican-American pare (showing 500 of 1212 characters). |
