| Born in Pueblo, CO on Oct. 31, 1886. Piper was an architect who in his leisure made block prints and painted. After settling in Long Beach, CA in 1918, he studied locally with Fanshaw and Richter. His illustrations appeared in architectural magazines. The subjects of his artworks include missions and the Mexican culture of early California. He was a building inspector for the city of Long Beach until retirement in 1944. In 1950 he and his wife Edna retired to Bishop in Inyo County. Natt P (showing 500 of 1028 characters). |
