| Painter. Born in Hobart, NY in 1860. At age two Peck made the trip to California via the Isthmus of Panama. Aboard the ship was Phoebe A. Hearst who took a liking to the child and became his "other mother." Artistically inclined at an early age, he traveled to Munich where he studied with Gijsis and Loefftz. He later returned to Munich and lived there for many years. Returning to California in 1912, Peck became artistic director for San Simeon and painted several portraits of the Hear (showing 500 of 947 characters). |
