Robert Peterson (1943-2011)
He was born in 1943 in Chicago, Illinois and died in February of 2011. He began drawing
as a child with rheumatic fever when he was confined to a hospital bed.
When he was eight years old, he moved with his family to Albuquerque,
New Mexico. He spent much time in school drawing because his hearing
was diminishing. His parents enrolled him in the New Mexico School for
the Deaf in Santa Fe and later he attended Gallaudet College in
