| Born in France on Sept. 25, 1892 while his father was studying art there. Always called Rollo to distinguish from his father, he came to California as an infant. He grew up on the Monterey Peninsula and attended Pacific Grove High School. He was taught to paint at an early age by his father and at 17 he began five years of further study in Paris, London, and Munich. Returning to the U.S. in 1914, Rollo opened a studio in NYC but soon became an actor, starring in Shakespearian roles, including (showing 500 of 1077 characters). |
