This biography from the Archives of AskART:
| Loveland, Colorado painter Sandra Pratt paints expressive canvases of recognizable images, mostly buildings, using abstract shapes created by her technique with the palette knife.
She left the Art Institute of Chicago after only one semester because, like many art educational institutions, they emphasized theory over painting techniques and practices. Pratt returned to Loveland and pursued her painting on her own.
Sandra Pratt bases her paintings on imagination, inner feeling and memories, she is not, at least for now, interested in the details of reality.
