| Born in Hollywood, CA on Sept. 16, 1912 of English parents. Paul studied design with his father, R. Holmes Paul, and took courses in cartooning from Elanor Colburn. During the early 1930s he lived in Laguna Beach and made many visits to Mexico where he obtained much of his subject matter. His style appears to have been influenced by Orozco. In 1935 he painted a mural entitled Youth and Education in the student's lounge of the Pan Pacific Club in Honolulu. In 1937 he settled in San Diego in (showing 500 of 765 characters). |
