| Born in Cannes, France on Aug. 6, 1873. Pelenc studied art in Paris at Ecole des Beaux Arts. He was an officer in the French Academy and recipient of numerous A.I.A. awards. After coming to San Francisco in 1915 to attend the PPIE, he opted to remain and rented a studio in the old “Monkey Block” (now the Transamerica Pyramid). He painted murals and scenes for various homes and businesses and was prominent in San Francisco’s French colony. Pelenc taught art for several years at San Francisc (showing 500 of 869 characters). |
