Little is known about the life and career of George Wentworth Parker.
His grandfather, Jacob Anslem Parker, came to Terre Haute from Maine in
1871, and established the Eagle Iron Works on the corner of 1st and
Walnut Streets. Wentworth (after his grandmother's family), called
Worth, lived in Terre Haute his entire life, first at 907 South Center
Street, then in the home he built in 1926 at 815 South 6th Street. The
1936 city directory lists his occupation as artist.
