| Watercolorist. Born in Hamilton, NY on March 25, 1858. After graduating from Lowell (MA) School of Design and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Pierce continued his art training in Paris. He was a resident of Oakland in 1893 and by 1899 had settled in San Diego where he was active until his death on Aug. 9, 1940. He was once head of the art department at Chaffey College in Ontario, CA. Member: San Diego Art Guild. Exh: Mechanics Inst. (SF), 1880; Worlds Columbian Expo (Chicago), 1893; Panama-Calif.
