Biography from AskART:
Portrait and landscape painter, Edmund Quincy was born May 15, 1903 in Biarritz, France. Edmund graduated from Harvard in 1925. He also studied at the Art Students League and with Albert Herter, Georges Degorce, George Noyes and F. Whiting. He spent much of his life in Italy. On March 19, 1940, Edmund married Josephine Biamonti in Bordighera, Italy and they later adopted a son, Daniel.

In addition to being an artist, Quincy also published some poetry. He wrote a short piece called "On a Visit to Hadley", which was published in 1959 in his Legends and Conditions. In 1988, Mr. Quincy donated a large number of papers to the Porter-Phelps-Huntington Foundation.
