| Born in Movstrop, Denmark on May 20, 1862, Arendt Rohde, with his
family, settled in San Francisco in 1893. With his brother
Peter, Arendt worked as a house painter. In his leisure he became an
accomplished painter of landscapes and Chinatown subjects.
Rohde died in Burlingame, CA on Dec. 5, 1942.
