| A painter who spends much time at Whidby Island in Washington state,
Bart Rulon photographs and sketches wildlife in the field and completes
the work in his studio. He is especially known for the wide
variety of birds he paints including seabirds, songbirds and waterfowl.
To get close to his subjects, he uses a "floating blind", a camouflage,
floating tube that he covers with vegetation and then sneaks in close
to the birds.
He has exhibited in the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum exhibition in
Wausau, Wisconsin for twelve years since 1994, and is a member of the
Society of Animal Artists.
