Catherine Alice Treanor Roundey (1857-1923) was born in San Francisco, CA on May 1, 1857. While in her teens Catherine married George Roundey and settled into a home in the Mission District in her native city. She studied at the School of Design and by the turn of the century was active in the local art scene.
Most of her work went up in flames in the 1906 earthquake and fire, making any extant works rare.
A life-long resident of San Francisco, she died on September 5, 1923. (showing 500 of 727 characters). |
