| Born in Marshalltown, IA on Sept. 3, 1876. Reed studied at the Cincinnati Art Academy, CGA, UC Berkeley under Hans Hofmann, Chouinard Art School, and USC. She taught painting, ceramics, and drawing in the public schools of her native city until 1910. In that year she moved to Ontario, CA where she continued teaching at Chaffey High School and College until 1946. Active in civic affairs, she convinced the city of Ontario to build Galvin Park in the wash of the old Cucamonga Creek. She died in Ontario on Dec. 11, 1966.
