| From Prescott, Arizona, Don Rantz is a plein-air easel painter whose subjects often scenes of his native state such as panoramic Sonoran desert landscapes, the Grand Canyon or the red rocks of Sedona. A favorite medium is pastel. He began painting at age 28 when he took and art class at Northern Arizona State University at Flagstaff, and to that time had been interested primarily in photography and wood working. Most of his painting was realistic and done in oil, but in the 198 (showing 500 of 1124 characters). |
