Edith Vonnegut describes herself as "a housewife who paints."
With her signature 'domestic goddess' series, she creates satirical images of weak women who are shown
as being passive and helpless and suggests that in fact, women are much more---they are strong and heroic.
In her book, Domestic
Goddesses, she offers 27 images of women in motifs that lean on this
traditional view, and counter those ideas with her beliefs that women
play critical roles in deci (showing 500 of 2632 characters). |
