| The following biography has been provided by Debbie Russell. (Elizabeth Robb was my father-in-law's aunt.) Elizabeth Barbara Robb Born: June 21, 1864 in Emsworth, PA Died: March 25, 1939 in Cedar River, Michigan Interment: Chartiers Cemetery, Pittsburgh, PA Miss Elizabeth B. Robb was a well known Pittsburgh artist and charter member of the Pittsburgh Associated Artists. She died March 25, 1939 at the home of her sister, Mrs. Earl H. Crawford in Cedar River, Michigan. Miss Robb was the daughter of John Scott and Mary Hemingray Robb of Emsworth, PA. Miss Robb graduated from the Pittsburgh School of Design and attended the Art Students League in New York. In 1922 she exhibited a painting, "A Haunt of the American Boy", in the Carnegie International and in 1915 her entry won first prize in the Associated Artists' Show. She won awards in exhibits throughout the United States. Most of her paintings were destroyed by fire in 1937 when the Bakerstown home of her brother, Mark Robb, was burned and he lost his life. The flood destroyed the Robb family home in Emsworth in 1936. In 1939 a water color "Chicken Shack" appeared in Associated Artists' Show. She had sponsored the Camilla Robb Russell Memorial Prize for Water Colors at the Associated Artists' Show for 16 years. The prize was in honor of her sister. (Camilla was my father-in-law's mother) Her father, John Scott Robb, was at one time District Attorney of Allegheny County, PA and her brother John S. Robb, Jr. was assistant district attorney for 14 years. She was one of nine children; three boys and six girls.
