| | Born in Alturas, CA on June 25, 1885, a descendant of Robert E. Lee. Elizabeth Fitzhugh first worked as a reporter for the San Francisco Chronicle and then was editor of a magazine called Bohemia. After her marriage to Dr. Phillip Rahtjen in 1918, she moved to Pasadena and lived there until his death in 1924. A wealthy widow, she then moved to France and opened a health studio in Paris. With war approaching, she returned to San Francisco in 1940 and lived there until her demise on July 16, 1965. Exh: Calif.
